Muxía has a rich heritage in its popular architecture in the rural environment: gardens, sheds, open-topped constructions, houses, stockyards, fountains, ovens, granaries, crosses, mills, dovecots, chapels…

Throughout the Muxían territory, examples of these constructions appear, the majority of which, are linked to work, popular architecture that responds to the people’s needs and their economic possibilities. The resources and materials used are due to geographical, economic and social factors. Stone is the dominant feature.
